A member of the Parliamentary Labor and Social Affairs Committee, Nasik Mahdi Al-Zanki, confirmed, on Wednesday, that the fever of high prices is burdening the poor, calling on the government to intervene to remedy the situation.
Al-Zanki said in a press statement, "There is concern about the significant price hike in the market for months," noting that "the government is required to conduct a study on price hikes through real partnership with parliamentarians and the private sector in this regard."
She added, "Citizens are now in dire need of the government standing with them and supporting them over the difficult conditions of life, which have become complicated."
Al-Zanki indicated that "the outrageous and unstable rise in food commodities requires the government to take a number of bold decisions in order for citizens to be able to live a decent life in its simplest form," calling on it to "
