    Yassin Iraq: Follow-up

On Monday, the British “Med” magazine stated that the value of the project market in Iraq declined by about 32% in one year, starting from December 2, 2021, until December 2, 2022.

The magazine said that the “Med Projects” index showed that the value of the projects market in the Middle East region declined over a year, with the market losing $139 billion of its value after the project market in Iraq declined by 31.9 percent, indicating a decline in the volume of the markets of Kuwait, Oman and Qatar on the index. Over the year, by 2, 5.6, and 1.6 percent, respectively, the three countries lost $17.4 billion combined.

She added, "The market value of projects grew in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain partially by 3.3 percent during the year, and in Bahrain by about 16 percent. The project market in Iran grew by 20.6 percent, adding $48.7 billion."

MEED explained that "the decline in the value of the project market in each of the Middle East countries is due to the reassessment of the scope of old projects in Iraq and the UAE."
