In the name of God, the Most Merciful, the Most Merciful

    .

On January 3, 2019, they woke us up to a tragic news and a dangerous development, which is the targeting and martyrdom of the deputy head of the Popular Mobilization Authority, Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, and the guest of Iraq, General Qassem Soleimani, and their companions on the soil of Iraq.

The previous US administration's undertaking of this act is a flagrant attack on Iraqi soil and sovereignty and is condemned by all international norms and laws. It is also a dangerous act whose repercussions could have threatened security and stability in the entire region.

Targeting a leadership that had a prominent role in pushing forward the dangerous terrorist attack on Iraq and the region during the battle does not reflect respect for bilateral agreements and friendly relations between the two countries.
It is necessary here to recall on this day the heroism of the leaders of victory in the battlefields and their response to the most violent extremist terrorist group in our contemporary history.

The fight against dark terrorism needed firm faith, strength, and valor, and that faith came through the proud patriotic spirit of the Iraqis and from the fatwa of the sufficient defense of the supreme authority, His Eminence, the Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali al-Sistani (may his long shadow last), and strength and valor came from the sacrifices of heroes on the battlefields of Examples of the two martyrs and the thousands of martyrs of the military and security forces of all kinds, from the south to the north, and from the east to the west, and the support provided by the international community.

The blood of the martyrs must not be wasted, and for this purpose, our new government works to build a solid foundation for Iraqi sovereignty, an Iraq that is independent in its policies, builds its relations on the basis of common interests with the regional and international community, preserves the sovereignty of its lands and waters, and prevents aggression against the country, its people, and its guests.

A strong Iraq is our message, an Iraq capable of facing challenges and crises, an independent Iraq that distances itself from regional and international conflicts and plays its important role in seeking to resolve them, and stands at the same distance between its brothers, neighbors and friends, and an Iraq that plays an effective and vital role in bringing the views of the parties closer together and becomes a sponsor of convergence and dialogue Instead of being an arena for conflict or settling scores. Iraq, thanks to its strategic geographical location and its historical and civilizational depth, can be effective in defusing existing crises, preventing escalation, easing tensions, and moving towards a safe and stable region based on the common interests of the peoples of the region.
For Iraq to enjoy the stability it deserves. This is the goal for which the martyrs struggled and struggled. That is why we will continue to work to cut off the traces of terrorism wherever it may be. We will also continue our path of economic reform and fight the corruption pandemic, which represents the most serious current challenge. We work without hesitation to control the border crossings and uproot The phenomenon of currency smuggling, we are moving very seriously in order to achieve the government’s goals in developing industry and agriculture, raising the standard of living for the Iraqi individual, providing job opportunities for youth and providing services to all society from north to south. dignity and provides a comfortable life for him. This is part of repaying the debt for the blood of the martyrs and their sacrifices, which paved the way towards a stable, prosperous, and fully sovereign Iraq that is the basis for the stability of the entire region.
May God have mercy on all the martyrs of Iraq and the two happy martyrs, and we console ourselves and the Iraqi and Iranian peoples on the anniversary of their martyrdom.

May God protect Iraq and its people.
Peace, mercy and blessings of God
