An investment contract to develop the Al-Tariq factory for pesticide production

The Samarra Pharmaceutical Company concluded an investment contract with a Jordanian company to develop and rehabilitate the (Al-Tariq) factory for the production of pesticides in order to reach self-sufficiency and reduce imports.
The company's general manager, Muhammad Abdel Qader Al-Nuaimi, told Al-Sabah: The Ministry of Industry recently issued a decision to merge the (Al-Tariq) factory for pesticide production with the Samarra Pharmaceutical Company, so the company concluded an investment contract with a specialized Jordanian company for a period of three years, which is still under implementation to develop and rehabilitate the factory. .
He added that the contract will bring a qualitative shift to the most important national factories in producing pesticides in the future with efficiency and high quality, in addition to paying attention to the packaging process to compete with imported pesticides, and thus it will be marketed to the Ministry of Agriculture and veterinary departments, noting that the factory was established many years ago with old production lines and was affiliated with the Industrialization Authority. Military.
Al Nuaimi explained that the factory is currently working according to simple capabilities and energies, producing types of solid and liquid pesticides through approved technical methods and subject to laboratory tests and the Central Agency for Standardization and Quality Control. We are working to equip the Plant Protection Department in the Ministry of Agriculture and the local market with approximately five tons of rodenticides of all types for the purpose of prevention. And protecting crops and orchards, as the products are highly effective in eliminating the types of insects that infect trees and palms. He pointed out that there is cooperation with the General Company for Marketing Medicines and Medical Supplies (Kimadia), affiliated with the Ministry of Health, which submits its offers to national factories, and has price limits and technical classifications that govern its decision to refer one company over another. These limits are imposed by the World Health Organization on the company with a classification for each factory and in the event of If this is not achieved, Kimadia resorts to importing, and this is a fundamental motive for developing the production capabilities of the Samarra Pharmaceutical Company and its affiliated factories.
