European Union: We look forward to increasing cooperation with Iraq

The European Union Ambassador to Iraq, Thomas Seiler, expressed his aspiration to increase cooperation with Iraq, while the representative of the Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture, Abbas Jabr Al-Olayawi, announced an initiative to train and qualify young people and include trainees with priority in order to be included in borrowing from the Ministry’s borrowing fund.
Seiler said, in his speech during the “Unlocking Capabilities” conference, which was launched in Baghdad yesterday, Wednesday: “We look forward to the role of youth in this country in cooperation between the European Union and Iraq,” indicating that “cooperation is good and has increased over the past months, especially after the meeting with Prime Minister Mohammed Sudanese Shiites. He added, "Cooperation is linked to building the capabilities of youth and increasing the economic and social aspect," noting that "the conference aims to show the potential of Iraqi youth and develop an important segment of society in addition to economic development." He explained, "The Iraqi youth needs good education and work in cooperation with the government." ", stressing "the role of civil society organizations to develop their social and economic capabilities."
He continued, "Young people must be supported to have work and their own companies," pointing out, "We are working together with the Iraqi government and look forward to greater cooperation with Iraq and the Prime Minister," and stressed that "the spotlight will be highlighted on economic and social development and creating job opportunities for youth."
He stressed, "the readiness of Iraqi youth to develop themselves and draw a new image for the country," noting that "Iraq has a partnership with the European Union and other partnerships with many countries."
For his part, the representative of the Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture, Abbas Jabr Al-Olayawi, said in a speech during the conference: “Youth have a large presence in the government’s ministerial program, and therefore it was a great start for the Youth Support Conference in Baghdad in the presence of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani. A paper was presented that was reviewed in the council.” Ministers to study it,” indicating that “time was given to the ministers to make notes on the requirements that would be presented by the youth, and they included a large group of suggestions, so these ministries began studying them in a dedicated session, and from that emerged an integrated project for youth through its approval in the Council of Ministers.” .
He added, "This indicates government interest in the broad segment that essentially represents the stability of the government and the Iraqi state," explaining that "the interest was great and that is why a group of youth initiatives were launched, distributed among ministries, and the Ministry of Agriculture had a share in it, as it was held in conjunction with the agricultural exhibition on the grounds of the exhibition."
