    Baghdad today - Baghdad
Today, Thursday (May 30, 2024), Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Ahmed Al-Assadi announced a new increase in the minimum retirement limit for guaranteed workers, while expressing his hope that the minimum salary would reach 700 thousand dinars per month .
The Ministry of Labor stated in a statement received by “Baghdad Today” that “its Minister Al-Asadi chaired a meeting of the opinion committee in the presence of the senior staff in the ministry.”
Al-Asadi said during the meeting, according to the statement, that “the direction of the government and the Prime Minister is to support and activate the private sector, because it is the most important sector on which countries in the world depend,” noting that “the Ministry of Labor is the ministry most concerned with this sector, and it contributed to approving the necessary laws to activate it, the most important of which is Workers' Retirement and Social Security Law.
Al-Asadi stressed that “opinion body meetings are not routine meetings, but rather they are the kitchen of ministerial decisions for the ministry, especially since the ministry has achieved many achievements in the field of social protection, the disability file, the work file, training, employment, and social security, which we focused attention on this year.” We called it the Year of Action.”
The Minister of Labor stressed “the necessity for the ministry’s departments to be linked electronically, approve electronic correspondence, and end paperwork within the next few days to simplify procedures and shorten time,” directing “general managers to submit a detailed report on the work of their department managers, evaluate their job performance, rehabilitate their departments, and prepare Basic supplies for auditors.
The statement indicated that "the meeting discussed the topics on the agenda, including directing the Prime Minister to oblige ministries and government institutions to deliver citizens' requests electronically, and deal with them electronically according to the type of service provided, as well as discussing directing civil defense teams in agencies and departments to ensure the presence of fire cylinders." And follow up on them continuously, and give safety instructions by holding educational workshops for all employees.”
