The Federal Integrity Commission announced, on Wednesday, that it was able to catch one of the accused in the act of bargaining and bribery in exchange for issuing a license to carry weapons in Baghdad.

She added, "The team initiated an elaborate ambush for the defendant, who had previously worked as an associate in the Ministry of Interior before his retirement, and was able to catch him red-handed while receiving the bribe amounting to one thousand dollars."
She continued, "The defendant committed the crime of bribery in exchange for obtaining approvals for a license to 'carry and possess a weapon' for a citizen from the Ministry of Interior," noting that "the process was carried out based on the decision of the investigating judge of the Central Anti-Corruption Criminal Court issued based on the provisions of the decision." (160 of 1983).”
She noted, “A formal arrest report was prepared and presented with the accused and the seized exhibits to the attention of the competent investigating judge, to complete the appropriate legal procedures and decide the fate of the accused.”
