Today, Thursday (May 30, 2024), the US Ambassador to Baghdad, Alina Romanowski, condemned the recent violent attacks against American and international companies, warning of the possibility of weakening Iraq’s ability to attract foreign investments.
Romanski said in a blog post on the “X” website, followed by “Baghdad Today,” “We condemn the recent violent attacks against American and international companies.”
It urged "the Iraqi government to conduct a comprehensive investigation, bring those responsible for the attacks to justice, and prevent any future attacks."
She added, "These attacks endanger the lives and property of Iraqis, and could weaken Iraq's ability to attract foreign investments," noting that "we remain committed to the comprehensive US-Iraqi partnership to build economic opportunities and prosperity for all Iraqis."
