Today, Thursday, the Ministry of Interior set the date for work on the project to convert the residence card from paper to electronic version, while confirming the progress of converting the work methodology in all aspects of the Directorate of Civil Status, Passports and Residence to electronic.
The Director General of the Directorate of Civil Status, Passports and Residence, Major General Nashaat Al-Khafaji, said, “The project to convert the residence card from a paper version to an electronic version is being worked on, and it is now in the study stage,” indicating that “Minister of the Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, instructed the conversion of all parts of the Directorate of Civil Status.” Civil Affairs, Passports and Residency to electronic.
Al-Khafaji added, “The Directorate of the Information Office granting the residence card is one of the branches of the Directorate of Civil Status, Passports and Residence,” stressing that “the study will proceed and it will be authenticated and the residential card will be converted into an electronic program compatible with the national card.”
He continued: "We have actually begun studying the project, then approval, and then contracting, as the electronic housing card will see the light during the current year," stressing, "continuing to transform the work methodology in all aspects of the directorate from the paper method to the electronic method."
