The Parliamentary Finance Committee confirmed that the salaries of employees will not be affected by the delay in approving the budget for the current year, while indicating that the new appointees will not receive a single dinar.
Committee member Jamal Cougar said in a press interview seen by “Takadam” that “employees’ salaries will not be affected by the delay in approving the budget because the disbursement continues according to 1.12 in the absence of a budget.”
He added, "The reason for the delay in approving the budget and the delay in its arrival to parliament is because of the fluctuation in oil prices and the change in the exchange rate, but this should not be a reason for delaying its approval."
He emphasized that “there is damage to the delay in approving the budget because the new appointees will not receive a single dinar if it is not approved, in addition to the absence of new projects, and everything remains as it is and a caretaker government does not have any authority to spend outside 1/12.”
