    Yes Iraq: Baghdad

The number of unemployed in Iraq is nearly 5 million unemployed, although it rises to more than 10 million according to parliamentary estimates. According to official Iraqi figures for the executive authorities, it hovers around 5 million, based on the percentage recently announced by the Ministry of Planning.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Planning, Abdul Zahra Al-Hindawi, said, “Unemployment rates in Iraq, according to the latest survey carried out by the Central Statistical Organization in cooperation with the International Labor Organization, reached 16.5% among the economically active population between the ages of 18 and 63.” These represent more than 25 million citizens. Which means nearly 5 million unemployed.
Al-Hindawi explained that "this percentage includes those within the labor force who are looking for work and are able to do so, while the other segment is outside the labor force, such as housewives and university students."
A spokesman for the Ministry of Planning, Abdul Zahra Al-Hindawi, noted that “unemployment rates vary among young people according to age groups, as it rises between 18 to 30 years to about 21%, then decreases as the age progresses from 30 to 50 years to less than that, and then decreases.” at advanced ages.”
Al-Hindawi pointed out that “the resumption of work in the stalled projects would provide job opportunities, and therefore there are dozens and hundreds of these projects that provide good opportunities for the unemployed, in addition to ongoing projects, private sector projects and new projects,” noting that “there are procedures in this regard, Such as obligating foreign investment companies to grant a percentage of job opportunities to Iraqis, which creates job opportunities for young people.
It is noteworthy that the German company “Statista”, which specializes in international statistics, announced in a previous report the unemployment rate in Iraq from 2002 to the end of 2021.

The company said in its report that in 2021, the youth unemployment rate in Iraq remained almost unchanged at about 27.2%.
