A government official revealed, on Thursday, that a 5% growth had been recorded in the border crossing with Iran, east of Diyala.
The district commissioner of Mandali district (90 km east of Baquba), Mazen Al-Khuzaie, said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, that “the Mandali border crossing recorded during this April an increase in its activity, which amounted to 5%, which is the highest during 2023."
He added, "The growth of the activity of the Mandali crossing is very important because it creates a recovery and provides many opportunities for the unemployed. It also reflects the desire of companies and merchants to develop economic activity through a strategic border crossing."
The District Commissioner of Mandali District called for "the need to allocate part of the port's revenues to finance reconstruction and construction projects in Mandali and the rest of the areas that are in dire need of development, especially with its return to its previous administrative status, i.e a district.”
The Sumar-Mandali border crossing is one of the important ports east of Diyala, and it started its activity more than 10 years ago. 25 p.m. ended
