Today, Wednesday, the Parliamentary Finance Committee confirmed that Parliament does not have the powers to intervene or approve the salary scale, and the law is not related to the budget, indicating that it is exclusively the government’s prerogative.
Committee member Mustafa Al-Karawi told "Baghdad Today" that "the implementation of the new salary scale is one of the powers and competence of the Iraqi government, and this matter is not related to the budget law," noting that "the new salary scale is still under study by a specialized committee within the Council of Ministers." .
And Al-Karawi indicated that "the House of Representatives cannot legislate any law regarding the salary scale of state employees, as this matter is one of the powers and competence of the Council of Ministers," noting that "Parliament is awaiting the final decision of the salary scale from the government ministerial committee, as it is still continuing its work until time and did not complete it.
Social media circulated many schedules that it said were related to the new salary scale, while parliamentary information indicates that the new scale needs to add 11 trillion dinars to implement it.
