The Ministry of Transport announced, on Tuesday, the start of expropriating lands and buildings in conflict with the suspended railway project, while setting a date for starting the work of raising project conflicts and signing the implementation contract.
The Director of Media and Government Communication at the Ministry of Transport, Maytham Al-Safi, said, "The expropriation of lands and buildings inconsistent with the suspended train project has begun."
He added, "The work of lifting the conflicts with the line and advertising paths for discreet companies to submit offers to prepare designs and priced quantities tables and develop appropriate solutions for networks, water and sewage pipes, electricity and communications cables will take place as soon as the financial allocations are launched by the ministry."
He stated that "the signing of the implementation, construction and purchase contract with the alliance of Alistom and Hyundai companies will be the event of completion of the procedures for ratification of the federal budget."
The budget of the Iraqi state for the year 2023 included the allocation of 100 million dollars for the suspended train project.
