Today, Sunday, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs counted the number of applicants on the platform to adapt the status of foreign workers, while indicating that the platform includes expatriates officially only.
The Assistant Director General of Labor and Vocational Training at the Ministry, Abbas Fadel Abbas, said, "Based on Cabinet Resolution No. 23119 regarding adjusting the status of foreign workers, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, through the Department of Labor and Vocational Training, launched a platform to adjust the status of foreign workers."
He explained, "Employers have started applying on this platform in order to adapt the legal status of foreign workers, as more than 10,400 workers have been submitted so far," noting, "The Cabinet's decision officially included foreign workers coming to Iraq, that is, Through airports and border crossings, and for those who have exceeded the period of their stay.
He pointed out, “The conditions for applying on the platform: that the business owner’s project be covered by social security and his commitment to employ 50 percent of foreign workers in exchange for Iraqi workers,” stressing that “there are inspection campaigns that the ministry will carry out in coordination with the concerned authorities for the purpose of carrying out field visits and taking measures.” legal rights of employers.
