The head of the local federation of cooperative agricultural associations in Muthanna, Awad Atshan Al-Ajaibi, said: “The Ministry of Agriculture is now required to re-work the agricultural calendar and support farmers, through financial grants spent on modern irrigation methods, in addition to investing surplus crops during the peak season in manufacturing industries to establish multiple factories.” And he added, "Farmers must be supported with irrigation systems, pivot sprinklers, and solar panels with different capacities to rationalize water use, improve productivity, and reduce waterlogging and salinization of the soil." However, the plans prepared by the Ministry of Agriculture must be implemented in accordance with the future vision for the advancement of the vital and important agricultural sector.
