The Workers Union confirmed, on Tuesday, the existence of five challenges stifling the national industry in Iraq.

The head of the Diyala Thaer Workers Union, Abdel-Moeen Al-Sultan, said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, "The existence of challenges that hinder the progress of the national industry, the first of which is random imports and the lack of real support for the industry in the absence of a national strategy to revive the industrial cities, which include thousands of factories, laboratories and workshops."
He added, "There are countries involved in paralyzing factories by converting the Iraqi market into a consumer that depends on importing everything, and this is a very dangerous matter and has repercussions in different directions."
He pointed out that "from 75-80% of Iraq's factories in the public and private sectors are suspended, some of which have been turned into scrap while tens of thousands of their jobs have been lost, calling for the need to adopt a road map with clear features in reviving the national industry." 25 p.m. ended
