The statement quoted the Director General of the Parliamentary Development Institute, Saad Fayyad, as saying, "The aim of organizing this forum is to shed light on the national and international mechanisms in addressing the file of the missing and forcibly disappeared in Iraq since the period of the former dictatorial regime, up to the terrorist occupation of ISIS in 2014 and other allegations that affected some parties."
The organization announced that it had, in coordination with the Prime Ministry, the Ministry of Interior, the Martyrs Foundation, the Council of Representatives, and the Independent High Commission for Human Rights, entered into partnerships to initiate the implementation of the project to consolidate civil peace, which will include the preparation of a database of missing victims through data collection teams and coordination with the concerned authorities.
