The head of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Bafel Talabani, on Monday condemned the bombing that targeted an agricultural airport in Sulaymaniyah with an unknown source drone.
Talabani said in a statement received by Mawazine News, "We strongly condemn the terrorist attack on the Arbat Agricultural Airport in Sulaymaniyah, which led to the martyrdom and injury of six Peshmerga heroes fighting terrorism in Kurdistan."
He added, "This criminal operation is a flagrant violation of the borders of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq and is part of the conspiracies aimed at sabotaging the security and stability of the Kurdistan Region and the Sulaymaniyah region in particular."
He stressed, "In the face of the recurrence of these violations, it is the duty of the political parties in the region to confront security risks and challenges together and protect Kurdistan from enemies and ill-wishers."
Talabani continued, "Our condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the families and families of the heroic anti-terrorism martyrs, who are the martyrs of Kurdistan security, and I hope for a speedy recovery for the injured. We also demand an immediate cessation of these attacks and call on the Iraqi government to assume its constitutional and national responsibilities in protecting the land and skies of Iraq, including Kurdistan, and not to allow these violations to occur." From now on."
Talabani called on friends, countries of the world, and all free people to “take a serious stance and stand in solidarity with us to stop these terrorist attacks.” We, the Kurds, have been at the forefront of confronting terrorism over the past years and have made great sacrifices for that, and we cannot be targeted by such terrorist operations.”
