is coordinating the Baghdad Municipalities and Agriculture Directorates to complete the third phase of implementing Resolution No. 320 regarding converting agricultural lands to residential. The Director of Baghdad Governorate Municipalities, Engineer Yasser Al-Quraishi, explained to “Al-Sabah” that the procedures for converting agricultural lands to residential are in accordance with Council of Ministers Resolution No. 320. For the year 2022, it includes 5 stages, pointing out that the directorate has completed the first and second stages, which include collecting land data and preparing sectoral designs, while the third stage is currently being implemented, which includes sending lists of agricultural lands to the Land Resolution Committee in the Ministry of Agriculture for study.
He noted that a committee composed of the two aforementioned directorates is in the process of conducting an on-site inspection of the lands, to determine their uses and verify the possibility of their inclusion in the decision, adding that if they notice that they are being exploited at a rate of 30 percent for non-agricultural purposes and activities, they will be converted to residential and all agricultural characteristics will be abolished. However, if the percentage It is less exploited and agricultural activities take place on it, so it remains in its agricultural capacity and is not converted into residential. Al-Quraishi indicated that the fourth stage includes changing the designs in accordance with the decisions of the Resolution Committee, while the fifth and final stage includes ownership of the lands and issuing bonds to those entitled to them.
