Telecommunications launches a national platform for vehicle tracking

As part of the country’s plan to move towards e-government, digital transformation, and automating the work of institutions in the country, the Ministry of Communications yesterday, Wednesday, launched the National Vehicle Tracking Platform (GBS LVN) project.
The Minister of Communications, Dr. Hayam Al-Yasiri, stated, at the launch ceremony of the platform, which “Al-Sabah” attended, that “this project is a step towards e-government, digital transformation and automation, and it is one of the priorities of the services government and its direct support,” noting that “the project was lagging behind like many other projects.” Despite its high importance, the Ministry worked to overcome the obstacles and obstacles facing it.”
She added, “The Ministry worked hard by the General Company for Communications and Informatics and its tools to improve the contractual environment for the project and move it forward,” noting that it is “one of the important projects and is considered one of the building blocks of the basic digital transformation in Iraq and the adoption of electronic platforms in tracking vehicles, in addition to being one of the methods.” Reducing corruption.”
Al-Yasiri explained, “The project will serve many institutions, citizens, and private sector companies,” stressing “its support for private sector companies that adhere to the law, policies, and state directives and work to serve the citizen,” indicating that “what distinguishes the project, apart from the technical and applied characteristics, is that it makes us proud of those in charge.” Accordingly, it was made by purely Iraqi hands and Iraqi youth who programmed, arranged and manufactured the platforms according to Iraqi intellectual property.”
For his part, platform director Hossam Al-Kalkawi said: “The initiatives of the Ministry of Communications have begun to be translated into reality, most notably (the national platform for vehicle tracking), which comes as confirmation of the efforts made by the ministry to support companies to localize technology to support companies and government institutions in Baghdad and the governorates, and to establish processing centers.” Data to provide navigation services in accordance with the initiatives and design and manufacture of software that makes it one of the pillars of economic growth
and increased national income.”
Al-Kilkawi added in his speech, “The platform will achieve citizen support by following up on individuals, personal vehicles, motorcycles and bicycles, which will be opened according to the latest standards of quality, security and safety of personal property from theft or tampering and reduce accidents by enabling dear citizens to protect their private property using communications and information technology.
”
He continued, “The project aims to support and make more national technological services available to citizens and to play an active role in effective control and oversight,” noting that “the project will be a distinctive addition that serves government institutions and ministries by possessing systems and software within the headquarters of their institutions from the special mapping system that the platform possesses with its various types of planning.” And the visual, and achieves access to the use of classified resources using (geo-code) technology, tracking, and data transmission technology locally and according to the instructions and controls of the Media and Communications Authority.”
He explained, “The system was developed with the latest modern technological features by enabling encryption between the terminal units and the storage computer, which helps government institutions encrypt their data according to their vision of securing their centers by enhancing their security according to the vision desired by those institutions, whether governmental, security, or logistical, using global systems and software that have become a source.” Effective for spying, analyzing data and supplying it within the global data market.”
He stressed, “This platform will be supervised by staff of the National Intelligence Service who examine, process, and protect all its resources and its various entrances to avoid unauthorized use, and develop creative technological solutions that help confront global challenges and achieve the goals of protecting navigational data.”
He pointed out that “the project is optional for the citizen, and there are monthly fees of about 10-12 thousand dinars, which is the lowest in the world, as it is the first international platform that works without
