Shafaq News/ The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, said on Monday that the failure to implement the constitution and federalism has always been a reason for destabilizing Iraq.
Barzani said in his speech at the Fourth Forum for Peace and Security in the Middle East, hosted by Dohuk: “The twenty years of Iraqi independence could have been much better if the constitution and the federal system had been implemented in Iraq. The failure to implement the constitution and federalism has always caused destabilization.” Iraq stability.
He added, "The solution for Iraq is to return to the principles of partnership, compromise, and balance on which the new Iraq is based. The Iraqi political elite must return to this path."
Barzani also stressed that "the results of the talks between Erbil and Baghdad do not correspond to the expectations of the Kurdistan Region, but we believe that continuing the talks is the only correct force. We will not surrender and will continue to find solutions to all problems."
He stressed that "Iraq is based on consensus, so we must return to this principle on the basis of which the constitution was drawn up and the new Iraq was built. If politicians deal with the spirit of the constitution, they will reach solutions to all of Iraq's problems."
Barzani also stressed that the region's employees live in poor economic conditions. The economic problems between Baghdad and Erbil must be solved, and quick and radical solutions must be developed for what the citizens of Kurdistan are suffering from.
