    Today, Thursday, Minister of Health Saleh Mahdi Al-Hasnawi announced a package of measures that were implemented to control the pharmaceutical market and hold violators accountable, under his supervision and guidance.
    Al-Hasnawi said, in a statement received by Al-Iqtisad News, that “the Ministry has taken a number of measures to hold accountable pharmacies and drug stores that violate instructions after the end of the voluntary withdrawal period,” noting that “the Inspection Department/Private Health Institutions Inspection Department/Pharmacies Inspection Division, Drug Stores, and Offices” The inspection divisions and inspection and complaints departments in the Baghdad health departments (Al-Karkh and Rusafa) and the health departments in the governorates carry out continuous inspection visits to pharmacies, drug stores, and scientific offices for drug advertising, for the period from June 22 to October 18 of the year 2023.
    He added, "The procedures included: notifying the scientific offices for drug advertising, number (64) offices, to review the Department of Popular Medical Clinics to receive the price labels for the national drug system, and inspecting the scientific offices for drug advertising, number (30) offices, and drugs violating the controls were seized according to the original seizure reports, number (number) 36), and inspected (49) drug stores and seized medications that violated the controls, according to the original seizure reports, numbering (115), in addition to inspecting (157) pharmacies and seizing medications that violated the regulations, and the number of reports was (168).
    He continued: "The procedures also included referring the owners of scientific drug advertising offices and drug stores, number (12), to the competent courts for trading in smuggled, unexamined drugs entering the country unofficially."
    He pointed out that "the inspection and complaints departments in the Baghdad Health Departments (Al-Karkh and Rusafa) and the provincial health departments were circulated to conduct continuous inspection campaigns on all pharmaceutical institutions to investigate materials that do not conform to specifications, seize them according to the original seizure reports, and destroy them according to the contexts approved by the Ministry."
