On Wednesday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani expressed his hope that the provincial councils would be a partner with the central government in performing executive tasks.
Al-Sudani said in his speech during the Council of Ministers session, which was followed by the “Al-Ma’louma” Agency: “The government is looking forward to working with the new provincial councils, which will represent an important partner in executive performance with the executive authority in Iraq.”
Al-Sudani thanked "the political forces and security agencies of all kinds, because our security services succeeded resoundingly in securing the electoral process, and the Election Commission demonstrated a professional performance despite the technical obstacles, and it is called upon to finish counting the results."
He concluded by saying: "We offer our condolences to the family of Colonel Marwan Al-Darwish, who was martyred when his plane crashed while performing his duty." Ended/25 hours
