    Today, Tuesday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani praised the efforts of journalists in covering the provincial council elections, stressing the need to care for the families and relatives of martyrs of the press.
    A statement from the Prime Minister’s Media Office, received by Al-Maalomah, stated that “Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani received the Head of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate and the President of the Arab Journalists Union, Muayad Al-Lami.”
    During the meeting, Al-Sudani affirmed “the government’s appreciation for the efforts of journalists, providing them with all care and attention, and preserving their right to access information, which represents the most important journalistic rights,” stressing “care for the families and relatives of martyrs of the press.”
    The Prime Minister appreciated "the efforts made by journalists during the provincial council elections, as their coverage and accompanying of the electoral process was one of the most prominent reasons for its success."
    The statement added, "The meeting dealt with a review of the events in Gaza, and the direct targeting of press workers there by the soldiers of the usurping entity, which led to dozens of journalists being martyred and wounded." End/25
