The leader of the State of Law coalition, Haider Al-Lami, confirmed on Friday that Parliament had spoken and decided to remove American forces from Iraq, but the matter requires implementation and pressure to ensure their exit from the country.
Al-Lami told Al-Maalouma, “The Iraqi parliament had previously voted to remove American forces from Iraq, and this matter must be implemented by a fully competent government, as it did not happen at the time due to the resignation of Adel Abdul Mahdi’s government.”
He added, "There is an urgent need to exert pressure from the House of Representatives, especially those demanding the removal of American forces, in order to implement this decision and push the government to remove these forces based on Parliament's decision."
He stated that "America, with the Pentagon's admission, left Iraq in 2011, and said at the time that (Al-Maliki expelled us from Iraq), but it returned from Shabak after it created the terrorist ISIS and brought it to Iraq and provided it with protection, with the aim of destabilizing security and stability."
