    The Investigation Department of the Federal Integrity Commission announced today, Wednesday, that it had arrested officials in the municipalities of Diyala. For committing financial and administrative violations, in addition to stopping the procedures for bidding for a property worth more than four billion dinars.

    The department indicated, in a statement received by “Al-Iqtisad News,” that “a team composed in the Diyala Investigation Office was able to arrest the director of the Wajihiya Municipality and the official of its Accounts Division, for committing many violations, including exceeding the disbursement by (1/12) and granting allocations.” A risk to the engineers in the department of 30% in violation of the controls and instructions, and the disbursement of sums of money to maintain the wheels with fake receipts, in addition to not taking the necessary measures against a group of employees who are not committed to working hours, in addition to exploiting the department’s wheel for personal purposes and depositing it for a year and a half in the home of the driver who was arrested. He was seized and the amounts of fuel and receipts for the vehicle were disbursed throughout that period. The municipal director and the cleaning committee also fired two contract employees and appointed the director’s two sons and the driver in their place.”
     
    It reported that "the official of the Building Permits Unit in the Baqubah Municipality Directorate was arrested on the grounds that he had drawn up building maps and attributed them to one of the consulting offices, in exchange for sums of money he took from auditors," noting that (42) transactions and a number of building maps had been seized in the accused's office, explaining that the competent investigating judge He decided to arrest the accused in accordance with the provisions of Article (240) of the Penal Code.”
     
    She continued, "The office's procedures and follow-up led to stopping the bidding procedures for a distinct property with an area of ​​(3,000 square metres) and an estimated value of (4,200,000,000) billion dinars, based on the decision of the investigating judge, pointing out that the State Real Estate Department in the governorate announced the bidding for the property in a manner... In violation of the law, despite the existence of a civil lawsuit filed against it by the municipality of Ashnouna.”
