Member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Mustafa Al-Karaawi, confirmed, on Friday, the continued follow-up of the disbursement of funds for projects in oil-producing governorates.
Al-Karaawi member said in a televised interview followed by Mawazine News, “The Finance Committee is following up on the non-implementation of the budget text for the oil-producing governorates.”
He added, "The oil-producing governorates have a lot of petrodollar funds that are still owed by the government, and the allocations to the central and southern governorates must be increased over the rest of the cities, according to population ratios."
He pointed out that "the government must support the governorates that suffer from poor services in the current year's budget, and that the Finance Committee will host all the ministries concerned with the budget to study their weak points."
