On Saturday, the Parliamentary Oil, Gas and Natural Resources Committee revealed seven points of contention between the region and the center in the draft oil and gas law.
Committee member Ali Al-Mashkour told Al-Maalouma, “The oil and gas law faces 7 controversial points, the most prominent of which is the region’s demand for the right to veto the issuance of decisions by the Oil Council, and this matter cannot be accepted.”
He added, "There is a real intention in Baghdad to resolve the differences between the region and the center regarding the controversial points regarding the oil and gas law,"
and pointed out that "the other controversial point is the marketing mechanism and whether it is done through SOMO or through the region, in addition to the financial returns." Ended / 25 h
