    Today, Sunday, the National Retirement Authority clarified the binding decision of the Council of Ministers regarding the program for registering employees and collecting pension contributions, while indicating that updates were being made to the system.
    The head of the authority, Maher Hussein Al-Bayati, said in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency, followed by Al-Eqtisad News, that “the National Retirement Authority worked to develop a system to renew and collect pension contributions electronically to simplify procedures, facilitate related tasks, and shift towards automation, electronic aspects, and technological development related to its work.” 
    Al-Bayati added, “The Authority has made the necessary updates to the system, which will be the basis for calculating the retirement contributions that will be paid by employees and formations to the State Employees’ Retirement Fund on a monthly basis,” stressing that “this requires a commitment to make periodic updates to it regarding the changes that occur to employees, including bonuses and promotions.” and administrative orders.
    He pointed out that "the Authority organized workshops and training courses at the Fund's financial training center in Baghdad, and carried out field visits to the governorates for the administrative units responsible for the process of entering and collecting data, as well as answering questions and inquiries related to work through a channel in the (Telegram) application, in addition to About publishing video clips on the YouTube application to explain the process of using the duties of this system.
    He pointed out that "the Authority presented the system to the Prime Minister, through the Minister of Finance, who presented the issue urgently during the Council of Ministers meetings, and who in turn issued its Resolution No. 23487 of 2023, which included obligating all ministries and government formations to complete the entry of their employees’ data into the employee registration and collection program. Retirement contributions for the State Employees Retirement Fund and updating the changes that occur to employees periodically and continuously, as well as notifying the Ministry of Finance by the State Employees Retirement Fund to the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers of the formations that are abstaining and delaying in registering and updating their employees’ data, and obliging the Federal Office of Financial Supervision to review the names of the abstaining formations. And adopting the possibility of responding to recording data for employees within the performance evaluation indicators of ministries and general directors, meaning that institutions that refrain from registering their employees and completing their procedures will be included in the performance evaluation procedures, whether for ministers or officials, in addition to the Council of Ministers’ decision to stop funding for departments that do not respond.
    He added: “Therefore, the decision regarding the registration system was circulated to all ministries and entities not affiliated with a ministry and governorates in accordance with the letter of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, Department of Cabinet Affairs and Committees, which bears the number 4262 on 8/24/2023, and then directed the Prime Minister to fully commit to implementing This subject".
