Al-Haidari told Al-Maalouma, “The intransigence of some parties within the region and failure to implement their obligations towards the federal government led to the obstruction of the legislation of the law, indicating that the law has been stalled since previous parliamentary sessions.”
He stressed, "The law is part of the government program voted on in the House of Representatives. It is a duty to legislate, but the stubbornness of some Kurdish parties prevented it from being passed in the House."
He expressed the House of Representatives' readiness to "proceed with completing the procedures for legislating the law, but if the Kurdish dispute continues, the law will be transferred to the next parliamentary session."
He continued, "The federal government did not reach an agreement with the Kurdish side regarding passing the law due to the many differences between the region and the center." Ended/25H
