    The Ministry of Trade and Industry in the Kurdistan Region continues to receive crops from farmers in all governorates of the region, for a period of 45 days, subject to renewal, while the federal government allowed the marketing of 700,000 tons of wheat in the region for the current year, an increase of 200,000 tons over last year.
    The Director General of Trade at the Ministry, Nawzad Sheikh Kamel, said in an interview with Al-Sabah, followed by Al-Eqtisad News, that the process of marketing the “wheat” crop in all governorates of the region continues for a period of 45 days, subject to renewal according to work requirements, noting that the start of the marketing phase has been announced and delivery has been received. Wheat from farmers last week, in 8 silos, in addition to a number of warehouses and yards.
    He pointed out that the mechanism for receiving and marketing grain from farmers includes several procedures undertaken by the farmer, the most important of which is registration in the branches of the agricultural directorates, in which the number of dunums planted, the car number, the name of the driver, and the quantity of wheat that will be delivered to the silo are recorded, in addition to going to the silos to conduct a laboratory examination, then to the weighbridge. To know the amount received from the farmer, then they unload the load, and the last thing is to receive the instrument with the financial dues.
    Kamel stressed that coordination is continuing with the relevant authorities in the region, in addition to the formation of the Supreme Committee to supervise and follow up the entire process, which includes the Ministries of Trade, Agriculture, Governorate, Farmers’ Union, Asayish, and Supervision.
