Minister of Justice Khaled Shawani directed the adoption of electronic technologies in promoting transactions and organizing their progress.
A statement from the ministry said, “Minister of Justice Khaled Shawani chaired a meeting that included the administrative cadres of the Department of Minors’ Care, in the presence of the Administrative and Financial Undersecretary Burhan Al-Qaisi, the Director General of the Department of Minors’ Care, Ms. Hind Abdul Jamegh, and the directors of the directorates in Baghdad and the governorates.”
The Minister of Justice said at the beginning of the session: “The care of minors is a sensitive department, especially since it deals with vulnerable groups, and this has been taken into account in the draft law on the care of minors prepared by the ministry, and submitted to the State Shura Council for the purpose of reviewing it and presenting it to the Council of Ministers, and referring it to the legislative bodies,” adding that “the reality of the buildings of the directorates in Baghdad and the governorates was discussed, and they were provided with the functional cadres specialized in the field of law and social research.”
The statement explained that “the Minister directed the adoption of electronic technologies in promoting transactions and organizing their progress,” and he also directed “contacting the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Municipalities to lift restrictions on lands belonging to minors; to exploit them in a way that brings them financial benefit.”
The statement continued, "Shawani agreed to transfer from the account of the Iraqi Reform Department to provide the Department of Juvenile Care with the amounts required to complete its work." He also directed "to find an alternative building for the care of minors in Nineveh, in addition to contacting the Anbar Governorate to provide the Directorate of Juvenile Care in Anbar with contract employees allocated by the governorate."
