    Baghdad Today - Basra 
    The local government in Basra Governorate announced today, Saturday (July 13, 2024), that the federal government has made promises to release the funds it owes to Basra Governorate.
    The head of the financial and administrative committee in the provincial council, Shukr Mahmoud, said in an interview with "Baghdad Today", "Basra has debts owed by the federal government that must be paid, and therefore we will seek to have them paid to the province during the coming period."
    Mahmoud said, "The governorate has a promising project plan and we will strive to implement it to improve the services in the governorate."
