Al-Sudani: We pledge to provide a healthy, educational and comprehensive environment for our children

Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani pledged to continue providing a healthy environment and integrated educational and educational care for children, while the Social Protection Authority, in cooperation with UNICEF, held a celebration on the occasion of Iraqi Children's Day.
Al-Sudani said in a tweet on the "X" platform: "On Iraqi Children's Day, we affirm our continuation in providing a healthy environment and integrated educational, educational and social care for our children, based on our civilized and human values, and what the constitution and laws require."
He added, "We continue to support all efforts of civil society and cultural programs that aim to care for our children and prepare them for a better tomorrow, as they are Iraq's guarantee for a bright future."
Meanwhile, the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Chairman of the Child Care Authority, Ahmed Al-Asadi, signed the tasks of the work of child care units in Iraq with UNICEF.
Al-Asadi said in his speech at the Iraqi Children's Day celebration: "The Ministry of Labor, especially the Child Care and Social Protection Authority, worked to ensure children's rights to good education, and launched a grant for children from poor families to ensure their continuation in school, in addition to comprehensive health care."
Al-Asadi added that "the number of individual children covered by social assistance reached 3 million and 479,523 children, which is the largest number reached by the ministry," noting that "the ministry has been keen to launch the national strategy for early childhood development that ensures the development of children until the age of eight and secures their needs."
He explained that "the efforts of the ministry, through the Supreme National Committee for Monitoring Violations against Children, culminated in removing Iraq from the list of children used in armed conflicts," noting that "the ministry's efforts are continuing to provide a safe environment for child protection and is working in cooperation with the Council of Representatives to prepare the draft child protection law, which has had its first reading and is awaiting its second reading in preparation for voting on it."
In turn, the head of the National Wisdom Movement, Mr. Ammar al-Hakim, issued a statement in which he said: “The occasion of Iraqi Children’s Day is an opportunity to call on all parties and institutions to work together to secure the rights of the new generation, protect them from domestic and societal violence, and the pitfalls of vice gangs, drugs and terrorism, expand prevention mechanisms against the dangers threatening them, develop national legislation and harmonize it with the international laws and agreements ratified by the Republic of Iraq, and benefit from advanced global experiences in this field.”
