Shafaq News/ The Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, held a meeting with the security leaders on Wednesday, and issued a series of directives.
The meeting comes after an airstrike targeted two Popular Mobilization Forces patrols north of Babylon at dawn today, killing four of its members.
His media office said in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency that Al-Sudani chaired a meeting today that included a number of military and security leaders, indicating that he was briefed on the overall security developments that occurred during the past hours. The meeting also witnessed a discussion of the security data and the expected repercussions resulting from the events in Iraq and the region.
According to the statement, Al-Sudani issued, during the meeting, a number of directives and recommendations to various security and military formations.
Earlier, the military spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, stated that the coalition forces committed a "heinous crime and a blatant attack" north of Babylon, pledging to take appropriate legal and diplomatic measures "to preserve rights."
Meanwhile, an American official stated that his country's forces targeted fighters in the Iraqi province of Babil with a defensive air strike who tried to launch drones that threatened American forces and the international coalition, resulting in the killing of four members of the Popular Mobilization Forces.
