Implementing vital agricultural projects within the government program

The Ministry of Agriculture has completed a number of vital projects supporting agricultural and animal production in the country.
The administrative undersecretary of the ministry, Dr. Mahdi Sahar Al-Jubouri, told Al-Sabah: The most important projects that his ministry has accomplished and are included in the government program are the file of cultivating summer and winter vegetable crops using modern irrigation technologies and plastic protected agriculture, which resulted in abundant agricultural production and meeting the local need for vegetable crops, and exporting the surplus. In the field of livestock, Al-Jubouri explained that his ministry distributed vaccines and veterinary medicines for the same period and implemented free campaigns by the Veterinary and Animal Wealth Departments, in addition to supporting calf breeding and fattening projects and supporting breeders and farmers with yellow corn feed to increase local production, in addition to distributing forage bran and molasses for free among livestock breeders in four governorates: Muthanna, Dhi Qar, Maysan and Basra. He stressed the trend towards adopting smart agriculture to deal with climate change using modern technology, and using modern methods in agriculture with fertilized seeds for the purpose of spreading seeds, in addition to laser leveling, which contributed to regulating water use.
