The judiciary decides to dissolve three parties

The Supreme Judicial Council decided to dissolve three political parties for their affiliation with the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which is banned in Iraq. A statement from the council stated that "the parties are: the Yazidi Freedom and Democracy Party, the Democratic Struggle Front Party, and the Kurdistan Community Party (Tafkir Azadi)". It added that "according to the ruling issued by the Judicial Elections Authority Court, it was decided to dissolve the three political parties, close their headquarters, and confiscate their funds after exhausting legal appeals, in accordance with Article (46/Third) of the Political Parties Law". The ban decision came based on a complaint from the National Security Advisory, and after intelligence reports and the Prime Minister's Office, regarding the relations of these three organizations with the Kurdistan Workers' Party.
