    Economy News - Baghdad
The Executive Director of the Iraq Development Fund, Mohammed Al-Najjar, said on Monday that Iraq has become ranked fourth internationally as the best emerging markets.
Al-Najjar explained in a televised interview followed by "Al-Eqtisad News" that Iraq is ranked fourth internationally as the best emerging markets, the first factor, but we aspire to reach the first place by attracting investors and providing the appropriate environment for them, pointing out that for 40 years Iraq was far from investment and within the framework of wars and problems at a time when most countries in the world were spending on infrastructure and developing the individual, so there became a difference between us and the countries of the world worth 450 billion dollars, but in the last two years, government projects have begun to move as well as investment projects with the possibility that the market will grow as expected.
He added that we need a new look at the many specific laws, and we also need all state institutions to become receptive to the idea of the investor coming and following up and not looking at him as an unwanted person in those institutions, as well as the feeling that investment is a second oil for the country, which must be taken into consideration and providing greater support and incentives to the investor, including reviewing the investment law.
