    Baghdad Today - Baghdad
A Kurdish source reported today, Monday, August 26, 2024, that the Federal Ministry of Finance paid the salaries of last July and this August to the security services in the Kurdistan Region.
The source told Baghdad Today, "By order of the Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, the Federal Ministry of Finance paid the salaries for the months of July and August to the security forces and agencies in Kurdistan."
He pointed out that "there is a federal committee to review the payrolls of other institutions."
The spokesman for the Kurdistan Regional Government, Peshwa Hawrami, said yesterday that "the salaries of the employees of the Kurdistan Region have not arrived from Baghdad for more than 50 days," noting that "the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, has constant communication with the federal government to address the problem of delayed salaries."
He added, "There is no need to send a new delegation from the Kurdistan Region to Baghdad to address the problem of delayed salaries, as the Kurdistan Region officials present in Baghdad will participate in several meetings to resolve this problem."
