Economic twinning between the Baghdad and Amman Chambers of Commerce

A twinning agreement brought together the Baghdad Chamber of Commerce and the Amman Chamber of Commerce, with the aim of enhancing joint economic cooperation for the private sector between the two countries, in light of the large volume of cooperation that the two parties seek to advance to broader levels that achieve benefit for the two brotherly countries, at a time when an economic expert welcomed the twinning agreement with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and described it as acceptable and we need similar agreements with other countries that have a qualitative work effort.
The head of the Baghdad Chamber of Commerce, Firas Rasool Al-Hamdani, said: Iraq is a major work arena that requires broad international cooperation, and we believe that achieving integration with the advanced international effort is an important step on the path to building the country, noting that the path of changing the economic reality towards new and better stations requires us to choose the qualitative regional and international effort and communicate with it directly.
He added that the twinning with the Amman Chamber of Commerce comes due to the existence of long-term cooperation with the Kingdom, as the past period witnessed the conclusion of memoranda of cooperation and an agreement to establish the economic city between Iraq and Jordan, which by its nature requires consolidating bilateral relations between the private sectors in the two countries.
Al-Hamdani said: We start our national missions from the government's vision of supporting the private sector and giving it a real role in achieving economic progress, pointing out that the goal of twinning comes to enhance cooperation with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, with which we have strong economic relations that extend over a long period, noting that the private sector in the two countries is close and can achieve the highest levels of benefit. -Hamdani stressed that Iraq is a growing country in all areas and needs a large volume of work, which in turn requires high fluidity in commercial work and precise organization, which the Baghdad Chamber of Commerce realizes and gives it great attention, pointing to the economic commonalities between Iraq and Jordan that require such twinning to expand cooperation and move it to a new, broader stage, and increase the volume of trade exchange between the two countries.
Economic expert Dr. Murtada Al-Khafaji explained that the volume of work in the work is large and this matter must be realized by everyone, and absorbs extensive local and international effort, which requires us to work with countries in the region and the world to build bilateral relations that advance the country and change the shape of the
national economy.
He pointed out that twinning with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is acceptable and we need similar agreements with other countries that have a qualitative work effort capable of bringing about a change in the form of the national economy, which has become a destination for most of the world's specialized companies, stressing that the future requires us to seriously move towards creating an ideal work environment that suits and attracts international efforts and considers them a partner to our local efforts in establishing projects within the national labor market.
"Twinning" means a cooperation and partnership agreement between two institutions in different countries, aiming to strengthen economic, cultural and social relations between them.
In turn, the Chairman of the Amman Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Khalil Al-Haj Tawfiq, described the twinning agreement as important in light of the economic memoranda of understanding between the two countries, and that this twinning should result in a work plan that helps achieve serious cooperation between the two countries.
Al-Haj Tawfiq pointed out the keenness of Jordanian companies to be present in the Iraqi labor market and to have fruitful partnerships with the Iraqi private sector within the Iraqi labor market, which has become the most important market in the region and the world.
The meeting was attended by the Vice President of the Baghdad Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Raad Al-Buraij, the Vice Presidents of the Amman Chamber of Commerce, Nabil Al-Khatib and Bahjat Hamdan, and the Secretary, Muhammad Tahboub.
