the year 2013 will reach 15,000 megawatts and is self-sufficient, the
electricity crisis will end October this year and will be equipping
citizens with electric power 24 hours a day, and stressed that the State
would lift subsidies on the price of energy supplied to the citizen
upon providing service throughout the day.
Electricity Minister
Abdul Karim aftan, during a joint news conference with the head of the
Basra Governorate Council good morning in the headquarters of the
provincial Council on Wednesday and attended by (range), the electric
energy crisis "will expire at the end of October this year and will be
equipping citizens with electric power 24 hours a day," adding that
"this summer will be better than the past through power generation units
of new stations to service during the summer of this year".
Aftan
explained that "Iraq would bring the rate of production of electrical
energy in 2013 to 15,000 megawatts and is only for residential
consumption while jump to 20,000 MW by 2015 and can release energy to
other States," stressing that "stations will enter service this year,
including Rumaila gas station card 1,460 MW and the Shatt Al-Basra
terminal card 1250 MW as well as new units in alngibet station.
He
said State aftan supports the cost of electricity is equivalent to 85%
of the price because of the suffering of the citizens lack the
processing power but that this support will be removed if service access
to electricity for 24 hours a day, calling on citizens "the obligation
to a culture of electricity rationing if they arrive at, especially with
good controls would be imposed on new tariff".
And Prime
Minister Nouri al-Maliki, (1 April 2013), that will provide electricity
2013 the current "round the clock", stressing that Iraq still needs to
"expand" his making a contract with global companies to provide electric
power.
For his part, the President of the provincial Council of
Basra, Hassan Franck at the Conference that "Basra needs more than 1400
MW for their citizens and that the end of the year will produce energy
from plants to more than 5,000 megawatts, it will be treated with a
special quota this year and beyond."
Franck said that "the
provincial Council of balanced last year $ 500 million to the
electricity sector and this year's budget allocations will be lower than
last year," the Bloc's reason to "enter a new power generating units
from Rumaila walngibet".
