defense company agreed to pay $ 5 million to settle a lawsuit brought
72 prisoners in US military detention centers in Iraq, including Abu
Ghraib and accused the company of complicity in ill-treatment.
The
settlement involving the company "Angeletti holdings", is the first to
be recognized by a US contractor payment against the background of
ill-treatment of detainees during the Iraq war.
"Angeletti" revealed
that when submitting their papers to the Securities and Exchange
Commission, which oversees the u.s. market.
She told the German news
agency that a settlement was paid amounts in October, prosecutors
accused "Angeletti and based in Virginia, which provides interpreters in
interrogations of prisoners involved in the ill-treatment to which they
were subjected.
And Abu Ghraib prisoners to systematic abuse
physically, psychologically and sexually in 2003 and 2004, and posted
pictures of American soldiers to abuse prisoners and humiliated on the
Internet in 2004, prompting international outrage.
