" 
    for his part, Director of production Directorate in the southern region , said improving Saad, said that" thedirectorate does not want to stop any station work , but we seek to rehabilitate the unit fourth in Hartha station, where she is suffering from technical problems led to a decline in production capacity , "noting that" the ministry has a contract with the company (Mitsubishi) , the Japanese spend rehabilitation of that unit, and it was scheduled to begin work in the month of May, but because of high temperatures has been postponed implementation to the month of August, and then decide to delay once again to the middle of this month, and if not to allow the company to work, the ministry will have to pay fines. " 
    He pointed Saad that" the Directorate want rehabilitation unit until returning to work at full production capacity amounting to 200 MW by next summer solutions , "adding that" the issue is purely technical, and in such a period of each year , we maintenance work. " 
    the province of Basra suffered since the early nineties of the deterioration of the electricity sector, it has worsened the crisis after in 2003, but during the past three years , the reality of electricity improvement in most areas, has required huge amounts of money from the budgets of the province to spend, the more those amounts spent on the purchase of electric power projects through the introduction of three barges Turkish specialized in producing electric power, as well as the monument belonging to the sector stations private, inaddition to import electricity from Iran 's Khuzestan province through Shalamcheh line.
