    The Foreign Ministry said Thursday, about Iraq and Kuwait filed a copy of the memorandum of understanding for the formulation of the common border of the two countries to the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon called the agreement historic moment for the two countries to the United Nations.

    The Ministry said in a statement, received "alsumaria news", that "the Permanent Representative of Iraq to the United Nations Mohammed Al-Hakim, and the Permanent Representative of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations, Ramesh had together to meet with United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and sent a copy of the memorandum of understanding signed on 28 may 2013, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iraq and the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry on arrangements for the maintenance of the common border in accordance with Security Council resolution 833 in 1993."

    The Ministry said that "the two sides in a joint letter to the Secretary-General, circulated a memorandum of understanding and its annexes as an official document of the United Nations", stating that "the Secretary-General welcomed the agreement and called the Prime Minister and the Emir of Kuwait and Park them in the political decision as the basis for joint cooperation prospects and development of relations between the two countries and described as a historic moment not only for the two countries but also for the United Nations."

    UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said earlier on Thursday (13 June 2013), that the United Nations will do its utmost to remove Iraq from Chapter VII, with Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki praised the role of the United Nations and its support for the positions of Iraq.

    This came following the visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, on Wednesday (June 12, 2013), the capital city of Baghdad at the head of a high-ranking delegation, where Iraq and Kuwait signed agreements in the fields of economy, culture, the environment, transport and diplomatic, with the parties expressed their intention to continue coordination and consultation on all regional and international developments and to promote security and stability in the region.
