Savage Trey Gowdy Goes OFF In Congress After Hearing What The CIA Agent Did To America
Posted by Allison Hillman | Jan 10, 2017 | American Strength
No excuses!
Trey Gowdy could have been the usual United States Representative. He could have sat in Congress, voted, worked on some committees, raised money to keep running, and maybe even accomplished something for his state in the process.
Gowdy is a not that type of man. He is not content with the status quo, especially when that involves corruption and lies. He is a tenacious fighter who has stepped up, showing conviction and morals while others played politics as usual.
He started his career in Congress, opposing the 2011 defense authorization bill. He expressed citing concerns about the prospect of Americans being detained without trial on national security grounds. He stated he would support a measure only if its sponsor could “demonstrate that the Constitution gave the government the power to act in a particular realm.”
Gowdy frequently and loudly advocates for the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act. He is pro-life and then some. He believes “in the sanctity of life,” but argues that “the strategy should be broader than waiting for the Supreme Court to revisit Roe v. Wade.”
On March 4, 2014, Gowdy introduced the ENFORCE the Law Act of 2014 into the House. The bill would give the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate both the standing to “sue the President of the United States in a federal district court to clarify a federal law in the event that the executive branch is not enforcing the law.”
Gowdy was behind a bill to prohibit non-humanitarian relief foreign aid from being sent to countries that engage in state-sanctioned persecution of religious minorities, practiced gender or ethnicity bias in education, or do not accept the return of nationals who have been extradited.
Gowdy was one of the first to go after Hillary Clinton and the corruption she stood for. He has been her most determined opponent. As her and her defenders tried to deny and deceive the American public, Gowdy called her out at every turn.
The proof is there and he will find it
When Clinton publically claimed she had never received a subpoena for her emails, Gowdy fired back, releasing the subpoena and stating, “I would not make this [subpoena] public now, but after Secretary Clinton falsely claimed the committee did not subpoena her, I have no choice in order to correct the inaccuracy.”
He attacked her convenient timing regarding deleting emails, calling her actions of deleting and wiping emails “curious at best” since she did so after the Benghazi panel had been formed and started requesting correspondence, and more than a year after she left office.
“For 20 months, it was not too burdensome or cumbersome for the Secretary to house records on her personal server but mysteriously in the fall of 2014 she decided to delete and attempt to permanently destroy those same records.”
He even possessed the courage to go after President Obama. His angry speech after Obama’s second State of the Union address conveyed distaste for Obama’s action.
“Last year, the president promised he would use his pen and phone to ignore the legislative branch and push through his agenda by executive fiat,” Gowdy said. “We have witnessed one executive power grab after another, setting a dangerous precedent and eroding the constitutional balance set forward by our Fathers.”
His further comments spoke to most of Obama’s presidency and perhaps should be repeated to Democrats now whining about Hillary losing, “As the president himself once said, elections have consequences. The most recent one being he must work with the Republican-controlled Congress, rather than spout recycled, failed ideas from past speeches. Americans are looking for leadership. They want solutions.”
Most recently Gowdy has continued to support the pursuit of investigations of Hillary and Obama. At the same time he weighed in on biased media and the lack of professionalism in Congress, “With very few limitations, you have the right to say what you want to say. But as a responsible citizen, I have to use that right judiciously. There are people in the media who are professional and there are some who have lost all pretense of objectivity. Constitutional equilibrium is out of whack. I wish my colleagues would just read the document and not confuse it with the Declaration of Independence or a poem by Robert Frost.”
Now Trey Gowdy takes on Congress and their lopsided “punishment” of John Beale, an EPA employee who collected a salary posing as a CIA agent and “earned” $900,000 from taxpayers by doing so. Gowdy was angry that Beale only got 32 months in jail for his crime,“He is getting a 3 level reduction in his guideline range for cooperation. That’s super acceptance of responsibility.” Gowdy then demanded answers to why the CIA agent wouldn’t answer questions by Congress despite his sentence reduction.
“Can I rest assured that the sentencing judge will be made aware of that?” He sat in disbelief as the man he was questioning stumbled over answers. Gowdy wants correct punishment and will not take excuses.
Trey Gowdy is the type of man we need in Washington. He represents what Americans should expect and receive from their government. Since he seems to be able to tell it like it is, let’s give him the last word.
“Republicans must lead the way in showing middle class Americans that we are committed to making our government work for them, We need to empower the middle class through fiscally responsible legislation that rewards work, encourages economic growth, repeals the job-killing Obamacare mandates, and simplifies our unfair tax code.”
