{Baghdad: Euphrates News} publicly Oil Minister Jabbar Luaibi, that Iraq plans to start oil and gas exploration in the offshore fields to strengthen its reserves in light of low crude prices.
The transport ministry statement seen by The Euphrates News Agency {}, the minister Allaibi say that the face of oil exploration company , "the importance of territorial waters out to determine the hydrocarbon reserves so as to enhance the ability of Iraq 's economic and position regionally and internationally."
He was a member of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries "OPEC" Iraq, it was announced last week to increase its oil reserves to 153 billion barrels from 143 billion barrels in the previous estimates.
Iraq boosted production rapidly in recent years with the help of foreign oil companies to become the second largest producer of crude , "OPEC" , after Saudi Arabia.
Iraq had agreed in the end of November to participate in the "OPEC" agreement on reducing global supplies to contribute to raise oil prices, and restore stability to the markets, despite the heavy losses incurred in the shadow of the war being waged against Daash.anthy
