Multiple developmental joints in Iraq and need a real look to choose the best strategic plans for the advancement and the first of the agricultural sector, which can contribute to significant proportions in the gross domestic product and achieve food security.
Member of the Baghdad Economic Forum d. Akram Abdel Aziz stressed that the identification of development paths must start from the agricultural sector , which has the potential of quick and real development.
She said in an interview with the "morning" that the agricultural sector is able to raise its contribution to the gross domestic product, where Iraq 's fertile land, water and human resources have, noting that the available land and arable enough to meet the need for double the number of Iraq 's population. The agricultural sector is suffering in Iraq from a decline in agricultural production due to inappropriate agricultural policies and not to the local product 's ability to compete with imported due to random import policy and lack of local product protection. Abdul Aziz pointed to the need to create a conducive environment for this sector and provide the advancement of production requirements and in the forefront of chemical fertilizers which can be locally produced in specialized fertilizer plant in the province of Basra.
She stressed that Iraq is capable of achieving an agricultural industrial integration and this provides large sums of money for the general federal budget allocates annually to import fertilizer from those markets at a time can produce imported from agriculture fields inside Iraq and make the capital cycle is completed locally. She stressed the importance to start production in the light of the potential available and then work simultaneously on the development of this sector , which is always oil and bring food security to Iraq.
Abdul Aziz said that Iraq is in dire need to adopt a reform program for a large sector prepared by the relevant competencies of agricultural affairs and have sufficient experience in its development in a sustainable manner.
And it called for the need to develop future plans to bring investment capital wishing to work in Iraq, especially that Iraq has spaces large land investment can cover the need for Iraq even more than that, indicating that the optimal investment for a portion of the available space covers need markets regional best types of crops.
Showed the possibility of building bridges of cooperation with international companies and regional specialist to create an ideal agricultural sector is characterized by fast financial returns as a result of the presence of farms and markets within the country.
And Abdul Aziz suggested that there should be integration in investment in this sector where the establishment of integrated farms for agricultural production and livestock, pointing to the importance of providing all the ingredients that can facilitate the success of this approach a way that achieves the highest benefit of the national economy grades.
Abdul Aziz said that the expansion of agricultural investment limits of desertification circle , which can accommodate years ago because of the decline in performance in the agricultural sector for reasons has become known to all, which requires to be working towards addresses two problems that one, the first to address the lack of production and the other limit the expansion of desertification circle.
