    OPEC Secretary General sends a message to the oil minister commends Iraq's commitment to cut production

    He sent Secretary General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) Mohammad Barkindo, Tuesday, message to Oil Minister Jabbar Allaibi praised the commitment of Iraq's decision to cut production and effective cooperation with the organization and his keenness to strengthen the Organization's role in the stability of world oil markets.

    Said Barkindo in the letter, according to a statement to the Ministry of Oil, said that the "Iraqi Oil Minister Jabbar Allaibi played an important and active leadership role in reaching important decisions of the Organization through constructive and active role and high flexibility and consultancy that paved the way for reaching agreements on reducing production."

    The Oil Ministry said that "the Secretary-General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting praised Iraq's commitment to the decision to cut production and effective cooperation with OPEC and his keenness to strengthen the Organization's role in the stability of world oil markets and to restore balance and support oil prices."

    Iraq had agreed on 30 November last year to cut its oil output by 210 000 barrels per day after OPEC member states agreed on the first cut oil production since 2008, and by 1.2 million barrels per day
