Maliki warns government to impose an "emergency" next phase

The political scene   Tuesday , 16 May 2017

Vice President of the Republic warned the leader of a coalition of state law, Nuri al-Maliki on Tuesday from the government to impose an "emergency" in Iraq after disabling the upcoming legislative elections by what he called the "enemies".

This came during a meeting with a group of informers and preachers and imams of mosques in the capital Baghdad, according to the testimony of the owners of the media office said in a statement.

The statement said that al-Maliki "renewed the call for broad participation in the elections and respect for democratic practice", saying it was "especially bet that enemies will focus on disrupt the elections and the imposition of an emergency government, which could lead to the introduction of the country in a state of instability."
